As part of continuing efforts toward achieving new manufacturing efficiencies, Caskey Group’s Rob Trebatoski recently attended a Kodak Graphic Users Association conference in San Antonio, TX. The five day conference included information and training on the use of new Prinergy software products, including RBA, or Rules-Based Automation.
Caskey currently uses Prinergy as the main platform for scheduling printing department workflow. New software capabilities, in addition to Rob’s enhanced training, will support Caskey’s goal of achieving a greater level of automation in this area.
“The end goal is that customers will be able to upload files to the Caskey website at their convenience, day or night, and those orders will flow through the system and be printed without any additional human input.” According to Rob, “Prinergy sets up a series of checks along the workflow process, and as long as the customer’s file meets those conditions, it can move along the process, thereby achieving “lights out manufacturing.”
