New Kodak Achieve T800 Platesetter for Caskey Prepress

A new Kodak Achieve T800 Platesetter will be installed in the Prepress department on May 16-17, 2016. Based on the successful Kodak Trendsetter  Platesetter platform and Kodak’s new TH5 thermal imaging technology, the Achieve Platesetter  brings high quality imaging and Kodak’s award-winning,  pioneering technology to Caskey Group.

The Achieve Platesetter will take the place of our current Kodak processor and bring new capabilities and benefits to the prepress department, such as:  

• Chemical-free plate processing
• Flexibility to hold multiple plate sizes loaded simultaneously
• Ability to accommodate larger plates for the possibility of larger press sizes in the future
• Automated plate selection
• Energy efficient with power savings of up to 40% while imaging
• Capability of producing up to 22 8-page plates per hour

According to Prepress Manager Rob Trebatoski, “This new technology will save time and increase productivity in the prepress department by eliminating the need to change over plates manually. It will also reduce Caskey’s environmental impact by eliminating all chemicals from the plate-making process; plates will now finish developing in-press. Ultimately, all of these added efficiencies equal cost savings for us and for our customers.”
